Thomas commentary

Jeni and I went to Summit classes at our church and overheard music from the Kids Blast auditorium while we were in class. This made us curious for some reason if our son sings in Kids Blast (By the way, this is kids church at Timberline k-6th grade). So we asked him figuring he will say yes, of course!!

We were wrong!

"Actually, the people up on stage do the singing for us" Thomas said.

"Actually" is our son's new favorite word just so you know. He always finds a way to make his parents laugh.

The Trouble with Friends

After my experience on Friday, April 25th, I am so thankful for our kids. No matter the fact that somedays there seems to be no listening going on, fighting, and just not sharing. This experience was one for the record book, and I really don't know if I can handle another visit by this friend of Thomas' in 2 weeks.

Here is what happened:
This certain friend was to stay at our house for 1 hour after school gets out. No problem, right?? His Mom said he can be a little wild, but nothing out of the norm. I mean it is a 5 year old boy. Then the fun started! Climbing up and down the kids playhouse, standing on the swing, trying to stand up going down the slide, in and out of the house, breaking the basketball hoop hanging on Thomas' door, slamming our little Flintstone foot cars into our patio chairs to knoch them down. I mean this kid was up and down and all around our house. After several attempts of Thomas telling him we don't do that here, and me also kindly telling him not to do that, it still didn't work. All Bekah kept saying was "These boys are crazy". I mean Thomas got cranked up a little with him, giggling and just having fun with one of his friends, and I am grateful Thomas knew what was right and wrong in this situation.
This fun continued a while longer, when the Mom picked him late without informing me. So glad that experience was over, and had to call Jon on the phone and cry it out. Jon better be here the next time for back up and support!!
That is the trouble with friends!! I never thought the Berenstain Bear books would start applying in my life!

Bye-Bye Curls!!

Last weekend we decided that it was time for Zachary to finally cut those beautiful curls of his. It was really hard for Mommy, but as having had Thomas, I knew when it was time for the little curly monster to turn into a little boy. And as we experienced with Thomas, Zachary got a little bit more mischievious and daring now that the curls are gone!

Welcome

This site was inspired by Jon's dear cousins, Laurie and Kari. Thanks so much for showing how fun it is to blog about daily life. We feel like our life is crazy busy and just as well share the daily trials and tribulations a family of 5, almost 6, encounters.
