A day out with Thomas the Train

Yep, we went to spend a "Day out with Thomas" down in Golden. This was at a very cool train museum right outside of Golden. We were first bussed down to the museum due to lack of parking at the site. This meant that we had better bring all that we thought we needed!! All went pretty well other then some minor hiccups. Zachary had a "hold you" melt down (this is when he repeats that phrase and gets louder and louder until you pick him up), while Nathan had one of his own, probably from teething. We got to ride in a train car pulled by Thomas 3 times around the train yard. A walk around the park followed the ride, taking pictures of some of the trains they have there on display. Next, was the stop at the minature train display (which was too cool!!!) and train tattoos for the 3 big kids. A quick trip into the Thomas toy tent for shopping, and then back to the bus. Jeni and I were spent. :0

Nine Years....Boy have they gone fast!

Last week was our 9 year anniversary of being married. It was spent with a wonderful day together doing pretty much daily routine and a delicious dinner at Carrabba's. Couldn;t have asked for a better day at this point!! Time has flown by, and I think by adding kids into the picture it has gone by even faster. With our Illinois trip behind there were so many people we visited with that remembered that day...that cold day! At least we had a memorable wedding! Where has the past 9 years gone? I really don't know, but I know we are headed in the right direction. We are growing as a couple, closer to God.

Illinois

Jeni's dear Grandma Zim passed away in August. Her resting place is at small cemetary right next to where Jeni's Dad grew up. We went back there mid September for the funeral. We also managed to squeeze a few stops in along the way because there is so much to see back there. This included a trip into Chicago, visit with some friends in Iowa, and of course, John Deere in Moline. 2300 mile round trip and the kids were amazing!!. Thomas and Rebekah rode with Grandma and Grandpa Zim some of the time, and the little boys (Zach and Nathan) slept and watched movies. No big problems to speak of (we stopped quite a bit to stretch and run around). Some tears from being in the car seat to much came from both little boys, but not too bad for their first big trip!!!

Steamboat

Its officially a family tradition now to get away to Steamboat every fall. This year was by far the most fun and easiest with the four kids. Zach was old enough to ride the Alpine slide with me and Thomas could go by himself. Nathan is old enough to be a better traveler and the weather was perfect!!!
